I spent the day taking a Concealed Carry instruction class by a certified instructor who happened to be the former weapons instructor for the entire police force here in cincinnati. He also was the instructor for the swat team that assists the federal team when ever they are called out because men must be replaced every two hours on that team when in action due to the high levels of stress. This is something I did not know before. ANyway, after we took the exam and passed we went to the shooting range. I was amazed at how many people acted like this was the first time they ever held a firearm or shot one. And these crazies are getting concealed carry permits?? Sure makes me feel safe..... Anyway, the instructor was really a nice guy and I went last. He said my accuracy was as good as many of the people he trained on the force. A GREAT compliment. I had a good tight pattern at various distances and various firing positions: one hand and two hand grips. I plugged the 50 foot center circle on the target image four times out of four. Getting pretty good with this semi auto 9mm Glock 26 Gen 4. I also have a Ruger P95 9mm semi auto which is built very well. Both are nice. Now I has to fill out a form and take it to the sheriff's office to apply for my permit to carry concealed should I desire to... I really have no intention of being someone who goes everywhere with a weapon on them. There are only times or instances and one of those will be traveling, especially through Virginia and to my daughter's house. Virginia has an excessively high concentration of Mosques and those who attend them. While I am sure many are just everyday people practicing their faith, I am also just as confident that it is a breeding ground for radicals. And you cannot tell who is who until it is too late. Just ask any dead person they killed in one of their terror attacks. So that is how I spent the day Saturday...
