that's fine. it's something different than affirming a one person one vote principle. but you have to count population numbers some way and the census data is one way to do so that is consistent.

maybe i am missing something about the naysayer position. your initial post is all i know about it. sounds like the methodology excludes illegals (legally-speaking, i believe illegals are non-residents) but includes everyone else. in my view, counting illegal immigrants in figuring the voting population would be a mistake so long as the data are available. can't see a reason to support their inclusion.

i agree. it's not obvious that there is any material issue with the traditional system. at least insofar as giving people access to the voting booth.

This is based on the latest census data.
They use that data to legislate & have done so, no change.
