Oh Cactus Flower, did you hear & watch Obama introduce Merrick Garland?

Merrick Garland is even respected by conservatives on The Supreme Court. His credentials are impeccable. Now, some republican senators, up for reelection are willing to meet with him. I hope they put pressure on the obstructionists!!

President Obama on Wednesday will nominate Merrick B. Garland as the nationâ€™s 113th justice, according to top Senate Democratic officials, choosing a centrist appeals court judge widely respected even by Republicans in hopes his choice will be considered by the Senate.

Picking a nominee for the Supreme Court has huge value for the Democrats. They can point to Republican obstruction until November. They can point to the hypocrisy of a party that claims obedience to the constitution which fails to follow it.

And of course, this is an issue which will make many voters more enthusiastic. The deliberate humiliation of the first black president generates righteous anger among Democrats.

Also useful in senate races that are on the cusp.
