It is almost impossible to be consistent. But at least a person should try.

Hard to argue life is sacrosanct when considering a fetus and to apply the death penalty to a criminal. The principle in one cannot be withdrawn for the other.

But you can argue it if you abandon the underlying principle and admit - these are merely our choices and we base these choices on our ancient customs and beliefs and not on one size fits all principles.

I think folks slip from religion to morals to rights to custom depending on what they want the answer to be.

This is another case in point, there are Two America's.

When its convenient republicans claim they want less government. That is unless there is a fetus, an adoptive possibility for a gay family, etc.

Everyone is entitled to a gun, even if they are blind...

In order to vote you need photo id, unless its a college id. Yet your nra membership card will suffice in Texas...
