Haven't you heard, Mitch McConnell has let republicans up for reelection know they don't need to support Trump (even if he is the nominee).

Trump is DANGEROUS for Americans! and the rest of the world if he was elected!

Does trump provide cover for moderate Republicans, that is, it the person in the Oval has a GOP label on the forehead, does that allow some crossover votes or more robust moderation.

1. Migration to a public option or single payer? HRC will get absolutely nowhere on this, but there are GOPers that believe the current state of affairs hampers entrepreneurship, a lackof willingness to strike out on ones own because of two words 'health care'. I'm not sure ACA has fixed that.

2. Israel-Palestine? Again, does the GOP label provide cover for a Pres to be more balanced about things. The best the current President could pull off was the Israeli PM getting invited to speak to Congress and paint the POTUS as the bad guy. Do GOPers do that to a GOP president?

3. SoSec? Again, cover for moderate GOPers, maybe a 0.25% increase in SSA and or Medicare taxes?

I know the guy is a complete narcissist, and his policies will largely follow the applause (as they currently do). This means giving a voice to gun control, funding planned parenthood, strengthening SoSoc by changing the revenue side - not the benefit side, a hawkish approach to international trade agreements, no help for unions, blowing up common core, an insane propensity for militaristic chest beating - and perhaps even war, an almost shrill increase in the pitch of american exceptionalism, climate? no idea.

Don't get me wrong, my general election vote is for HRC, bu it is a curious thought experiment.
