I think the civil war in the Republican Party is erupting into the public domain. The North Easterners don't like the Limbaugh ideologues and pay lip service to the evangelical Christians. The ideologues hate the North Easterners and want to coopt the evangelicals. The evangelicals don't really like the extreme ideologues (except where they overlap) but can live with the North Easterners. The Bush establishment wants to ride all three groups but fell off the horse.
Or something like that. Hard to be exact as the different groups all like to pretend they provide a broad tent. But they are all repellant to outsiders and to a great extent, to one another. What they all share is hatred of libruls, which where Fox News comes in. It's Obama's fault, whatever it is.
