CLEVELAND, Ohio -- On the muddy Republican campaign trail, Ohio Governor John Kasich has dubbed himself the "Prince of Light and Hope." This week the Prince of Light and Hope threw some serious shade on women and their health care providers.

Sunday, Kasich signed a bill that will defund Planned Parenthood in Ohio by an estimated $1.3 million. The bill prohibits the state from contracting for health services with any entity that also provides abortion services.

State and Federal laws already prohibit tax dollars from directly subsidizing abortions. The bill Kasich signed will ban Planned Parenthood from using state funds for prenatal and newborn care, breast-cancer screenings, STD and HIV testing, domestic violence programs and all other health care services."

After firing another cannon ball in the 'war on women', Kasich threw kitchen grease on the fire. Recalling how he won his state senate seat in 1978 Kasich said, "We just got an army of people, who, and many women, who left their kitchens to go out and go door to door and to put yard signs up for me. All the way back when - you know things were different."

We know things were different in the 2016 Nevada caucus. Women homemakers and women blue and white collar workers came out of their homes and places of employment to vote for Donald Trump instead of Kasich.

As the Nevada votes were totaled, Kasich and Ben Carson lagged far behind Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, who themselves lagged far behind Trump.

Despite 80% of caucus voters describing themselves as conservative, Kasich lost to Trump, who opposes defunding Planned Parenthood, praising the health services it provides women.

How much longer until the self-proclaimed "Prince of Light and Hope" realizes he has no hope of winning the nominating and declares he's positively suspending his campaign?
