clo, I just speak from personal
experience. I have seen the
welfare mom driving a new luxury
car. I have had a healthy, strong
man demand I give him part of my
money because I had it and he
wanted some. I have heard the
guy talking about begging on the
street because he got one to two
grand a week and did not have to
pay taxes on it. I am sorry but I
have seen too many things. I have
no problem with helping out someone
who had bad luck but I have met and
seen too many people who do not work
because they can get as much or more
by holding their hand out.

DG,

You have shared many of your life experiences & work history.
Like most of us, you have lived a productive life.
Well done!

On the other hand, YOU always look for the worst in people & paint 'them' as not doing their best. Making it sound as if YOU were the martyr & they take advantage of welfare.
Some do, but most would prefer to be self-supporting, just look at how many work 2 or 3 part time jobs, for minimum wages.

You also give businesses the benefit of the doubt & don't think they should have to pay a fair wage.
You can't have it both ways, either workers are paid a fair wage or they are subsidized by the government with SNAP & Medicaid & other programs.
