Separation of church & state.

Pope Francis could have worded this without injecting his opinion in the 'election', do unto others as you would have done unto you.

That said, Trump probably lost any Latino & Hispanic voters he might have had. Most are catholic & love the pope.

Just another group Trump has offended...

This wasn't a wise intervention on the part of Pope Francis.

First, why shouldn't the US build a wall if it wishes to without someone treating it as a Christian matter? Second, the Pope is a Catholic and cannot speak for Christianity as a whole.

The Pope wasted his prestige here. But he'll get over it.
