Hi Cactus Flower,

Do you know what added insult to injury, there is a section in Florida that has a large Jewish population, the way the damn ballot was configured, many voted for Pat Buchannan, when they thought they were voting for Gore....

Then those damn chads!

what a cluster ....!

Gore proved to be the real statesman in the manner he carried himself.

hi clo,

for me, there was no right or wrong decision in bush-gore. just perspectives. the available facts were inadequate to know the winner in florida in the desirable timescale.

for myself, i thought bush might have stepped aside because he had fewer votes in the country as a whole. but maybe it is asking too much for someone to fall on their sword for a higher cause these days.

so someone had to choose and who better than the supreme court to do so. even when one disagrees, at least the reasoning is interesting.

for myself, i thought the manner of his victory and the experience of bush's team meant he would be a respectable, evenhanded president. it didn't go quite as i expected.
