Hi D&O,
He goes to places I don't in blaming Obama. We have Fox News for that. I don't see Obama as promoting the Islamification of the USA. But I do see him treating Islam as if it is the same as other religions.
My own analysis of Islam simply ignores the aspects which involve religion, as Westerners define it, and considers the politics, the law and the culture of Islam. I don't care if someone believes in Allah. I do care if they want to impose their political ideas on me.
For myself, as things currently stand, I see no hope of assimilation of Moslems once their numbers reach a certain percentage of the population. The numbers of Moslems who believe in imposing Sharia, killing apostates and suchlike is too high. Wherever there is a sizeable minority of Moslems, characteristic, Islamic things seem to happen. You get the me-victim narrative, the sullen youth on welfare, the rationalisations of divinely-inspired nastiness, the struggle against the evolution of a society, the demands for accommodation.
In my view, various interpretations of Islam are currently designed not to have soft edges. The only solution that might work is a Western form of Islam that adopts a secular model of government and law. So if Moslems adopt that kind of version of politics, they are welcome. If they want to impose Islamism, I suggest they look elsewhere for a home. It doesn't work anywhere it is employed. This isn't a coincidence.
