education should be the new healthcare. regular market economics don't work in this marketplace.
you don't want to price bright, poor aspiring doctors and lawyers out of the market. saddling folks with debt for life for a three of four year degree is absurd. making debt easily available merely drives up the price of education for everyone. the cost of a 4 year degree (in real dollars) is around two and a half times what it was 20 years ago.

so what happens as a result of making loans easily available? rich professors. nothing much else.
in a decade, education will look like the old healthcare. unless someone changes the system.
