ignoring the polls, the US rarely gives three straight, Dukakis losing to Bush really has more to do with Dukakis than anything else. A candidate like Gore would have beaten Bush I. Similarly, how on earth did Gore lose to Bush II given the geopolitcal and economic climate of the time?

Given the broad discontent today, I just don't see a threepeat.

not sure where you are finding advantage to gop in the general. here's the current chart for hc vs trump. early doors, i know, but i wouldn't see gop as favourite at this point.
