the stunning thing is the collapse of the right's conservative philosophy before trump. all the stuff you might have thought was inviolable turns out to be less important than building a wall and making mexicans pay for it. oh, and making the statement that america is going to be great again, because negotiation.

he is destroying the republican party and crushing its ideas. i am not sure he will do the traditional move to the centre routine. he has his success by having no coherent ideas and pushing his personality on america.

but heck, if this is all an act and he becomes a polite centrist at the general, perhaps he will be a decent president. for myself, i don't think he is capable of it. you are looking the monster in the face. he will trash the constitution and the congress like he has trashed the republican party.

The conservative right's tail has wagged the republican dog since from just about Fox's debut. There isn't much, if any, of a social conservative in Trump - fiscal conservatism probably quite a bit. As soon as he wraps up the gop nomination he'll start emphasizing his centrist views to attract independents separating himself from the social wingnuts. He will need to smooze over some of his outrageous pronouncements about immigration, women, Muslims et al. He won't lose any votes from the right, they can't prefer Hil or Bern. Starting this fight w/ Fox is the begining and politically strategic. He may be just what the gop needs to allow them a chance to win the white house. I hate to admit it but he could win. Win Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania - very doable and he's Prez.
