It is not as if black and mixed race actors never win Oscars. Indeed, they win them with reasonable frequency. There are plenty of talented actors amongst this segment of the community of luvvies. Many have been recognised for their performances.

Actors and actresses of recent African or part-African descent who have won Academy Awards include:

1939 Hattie McDaniel
1963 Sidney Poitier
1982 Louis Gossett, Jr.
1989 Denzel Washington
1990 Whoopi Goldberg
1996 Cuba Gooding, Jr.
2001 Denzel Washington
2001 Halle Berry
2004 Jamie Foxx
2004 Morgan Freeman
2006 Forest Whitaker
2006 Jennifer Hudson
2009 Mo'Nique
2013 Lupita Nyong'o

ie since the year 2000, that's roughly 1/8th of the Oscars - not so dissimilar from the proportion of African Americans living in the US. There are far bigger issues than this, if this is an issue at all. Sounds to me as if the record shows that Oscar voters are fairly colour-blind with respect to people with black or mixed-black ethnicities. Which means sometimes they must also be allowed to say a performance wasn't Oscar-worthy.

Having said that, there is likely a network effect by which more money is available to make movies which target larger populations of movie goers. Maybe there is a disadvantage there for black minority actors. Which is an issue of economics rather than racial prejudice.

If I was Latino or Asian American, I might be mad as hell. Latinos and Latinas have won 5 Oscars altogether. Asians have won 4.

someone should just tell him he's a very ordinary actor and that fully explains why he wasn't nominated.

has he ever played a part that isn't himself trying to be teenage cool while playing his own personality, whatever the story?
