By complete luck, the US has avoided large scale immigration from Islamic countries. But Americans are fooling themselves if they think they won't import Europe's problems by adopting a compassionate approach to Moslem immigration. The numbers of Moslems who think violence is justifiable in the name of global jihad is scarily high.
The problems of Islamic violence are almost everywhere that Islam has adherents. As someone said, Islam has bloody edges. Islamist terrorism exists in places where Islam has been a religion for a long while. It has been exported to Europe whence jihadists now see a new country for their aspirations to kill their way to power. Almost the only country that avoids Islamic violence is Japan, which excludes Moslem immigration.
So yes, be nice to Moslems. But until Islam is reformed and enlightened in the same way Christianity was, restrict immigration to those who clearly want to live in a secular state, ban Islamism, find Jihadis and jail them.
