Exactly. It is a shame but we live in a paradoxical universe. So sometimes you have to make hard choices between bad and worse rather than right and wrong.

Any old fool could see these kinds of problems coming down the train tracks. The folks who say we must simply be nice and who excoriate those who are sceptical bear responsibility for the 500 sexual attacks which resulted from their choice to run an open borders policy.

If we turned away people at the borders, I am prepared to take a little share of responsibility for that as well. It is my view that we should do what we reasonably can but that doesn't mean opening borders. The duty of our leaders is primarily to their own people.

Controlled and targetted immigration, sure. Wave after wave of who knows who, not so much.

I believe history will look very unkindly on her. And deservedly so.

It's a shame that being a "good person" can be so wrong. But letting in masses of folks with completely different and opposing cultural, religious, political and world views is not going to be good for the future of Germany. Among others.
