The difference is that Obama actually WAS born in the United States and so he didn't need to prove anything. After all, did anyone ever ask Dubya to produce HIS birth certificate, which is something that I suspect he would have really tried to avoid as it would have revealed that he was born in that bastion of liberalism know as Connecticut. After all, he had spent a lifetime trying to portray himself as a good old Texas boy and having to admit that he was from New England would NOT have sat well with his base.
