re: "How about having a wooden building?"
That was my first plan. But wood is far more expensive, poses a fire risk (and costs more to insure), poses a greater roof-collapse risk and is much higher maintenance than metal. Steel is the way to go, especially these days when its price isn't too far off of its all-time (in year 2000 dollars) low.
Termites might be an issue elsewhere, but there are no termites in NH.
Wood has some advantages. Debatably, it's more attractive. (I think so, anyway.) It's easier to insulate. It's not prone to condensation problems. Animals aren't going to get their tongues stuck to it. But price and maintenance tip the scales in the direction of metal.
Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months |
