Hi D&O,
Consuming the crow before the horror. We would both rather you had been right. There's still a (much reduced) chance you will be. Unfortunately, Cruz is right behind him. I think I would rather a bully/fool than a crafty zealot but it's a hard choice.
After her recent long appearance in Congress, I think HRC will be a competent administrator. But she's much more vested in identity politics than I am. She can assume we've noticed she's a woman. No need to mention it. She cleaves to the faux-racial 'see no Islam, hear no Islam, speak no Islam' party line on terrorism. When they go a long way down the minority victim road, the Democrats usually leave me behind.
In retrospect, it was candidate Obama's eschewing of a racial narrative that was part of the reason I preferred him to HRC in the first place. He spoke of high-altitude liberal values and the avoidance of gross inequality (which is different to demanding equality).
But knowing she won't entirely be my sort of President, I have no doubt that my sympathies are more with her than the other lot. Shame that Kasich never took off.
