True American??

My mother passed away a couple of
years ago. In the 50's she worked
for Woolworth. Her boss quit and
bought a small chain of dime stores
in New Mexico. He talked Mom into
moving to Gallup to run one of those
dime stores. In the early 60's he
became sick and sold the chain to
an outfit in Oklahoma. They told
Mom that if she wanted to keep
working there, that was fine but
they did not have women managers.
She moved back to Texas and started
buying a small convenience store. It
was not doing too well so she started
to make donuts. Everybody loved her
donuts so the business grew and grew.
She got up six days a week at 3:30 AM
and made the donuts. The donuts paid
for the store, bought two houses, and
two vacant lots. Finally in her 80's
she stopped making donuts and started
doing income taxes. When she died,
everything she owned was paid for and
she had enough in the bank to pay her
own way. She was a TRUE AMERICAN.
