Death of Michigan Woman Mauled by Dogs Was Suicide: Officials

The death of a woman who climbed a fence and was mauled by two dogs has been ruled a suicide, officials said.
The 22-year-old suffered severe facial and neck injuries after a pit bull and a husky attacked her in the backyard of a Port Huron, Michigan, home on December 3, according to police.
Rebecca Lillian-Kay Hardy was airlifted to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries. Authorities said that she had entered the fenced-in backyard for "an unknown reason."
The dogs' owner intervened and aided Hardy after being notified by a witness.
Hardy's death was officially deemed a suicide by the Medical Examiner's Office, Port Huron Police said in a statement.
"The manner of death was determined based on information given to police by witnesses during the investigation," the force added.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing and authorities are still determining whether any charges are warranted.
