I know CF, that was a little tongue in cheek but I do like the draft as an equalizer and a muffler for the militants. I disagree that without territory the caliphate is kapoot. This is more about minds than land. As you wrote earlier, guns are readily available in the US. ISIS seems intent on infiltration and the refugee problem is an ideal methodology. It's not like we are free of discontents. Nor is most of the world. If it was intentional to create the refugee problem and use it to infiltrate countries w/ insurgents that is genius. So no this isn't as simple as territorial supremacy.

It doesn't require a draft or even an outsized US army.

This is the sort of situation where every country will provide a contingent. Let the French lead. Just roll through Syria and take territory until there's none left for ISIS. We can beat these guys easily if we choose to.

Without territory, there is no caliphate.
