Hi D&O, I think it could happen. It would require a proven moderate leader w/ very deep pockets (like Bloomberg) and take a few cycles. Pick off a few influencial elected national legislators from secure seats to start the nucleus. Todays primaries demonstrate the hunger amongst the voters for a middle option. A substantial moderate 3rd party would force both the far right and far left to seek compromise from the middle to pass anything. First we'd need a Bloomberg.

Seems to me that we badly need a party comprised of the left edge of the GOP, and the right side of the Dems.

It won't happen, but I wish it would. I think both major parties are PATHETIC.
