As woeful as W was as a president, I find him likeable as a person and - astonishingly - many of the leading Republican candidates would likely make worse presidents.

America is like Iran. One worries that the US has access to nuclear weaponry with such despots, theocrats and ideologues almost within reach of the button.

It is curious how the Bush family measures keeping America safe from September 12, 2001. I could have sworn he was president the day before.

The Iraq war had nothing to do with domestic terrorism, far as I know. Thus it couldn't make it better or worse. At least directly.

But he did clear AQ out of Afghanistan and did a good job destroying them as a viable entity... even if he failed to bag Bin.
