Hi tkc,

I don't really see the Obama arrogance that Fox pushes relentlessly. Okay he is contemptuous of Republicans but only in America does anyone consider them anything but nutty.

But as is intrinsic to any sensible reading of reality - you gotta embrace the hypocrite in you sometimes! Experience is paradoxical and so we must. Consistency is beyond our powers and gets found out in the end.

In my view his greatest failing is not his arrogance but his fastidiousness.

American isolationism did as much to cause the second world war as British-French appeasement. Actually, I think Chamberlain did something wise during the whole "peace in our time" kerfuffle. He drew a line over Poland and told Hitler the consequence of crossing it. When Hitler crossed it, he triggered the consequences.

Putin saw the strength of Obama's red line over the use of WMDs in Syria and drew his conclusion. He knows Obama's threats have no meaning. He attacked Ukraine. Now he is bombing Obama's allies in Syria.

Hi CF. "Sometimes you get war because you are so much set on avoiding it. This is also Obama's problem." I agree. Obama is an intellectual who seeks resolution through negociation/compromise because he is confident he will come out on top. He comes off as elitist, even condesending in his demeander which really tics off those he confronts. He obviously avoids war, that would be an absolute last resort and then only w/ partners. I can live w/ that but agree that this perceived "weakness" can be causation. In total, with all he has had to deal with and what he has accomplished, I give him a high grade. Just wish he had been more agressive when he had majorities in both houses. He sought compromise too long causing his agenda to be too compromised.
Sanders his trying to sell idealist delusion. But I like him and Quixotic character and drive.
