Good Morning OCU!

Unbelievable. Sounds a bit more like extortion to me.
I surely hope that senior management "pitches in" and works for nothing around the holiday season.

A retail business that is online and runs 24-7-365 if well run creates a distribution system based upon Thanksgiving-Christmas volume. This is the critical time of the year for all retailors.

Any business that "suffers" a huge increase in business such as this is profitable. When you make money you pay your employees "more". Not profit sharing. Simple common sense.

No employee has to give up personal time to demonstrate his zealous attitude. That's Japanese.
If you want to sing company songs and go to company pep rallys, move to Kyoto. That's all bullshit.
People very rarely 'whistle while they work' and hum happy tunes. Work is work.

The social contract we live under is that when you work you get paid.

Profits are the result of productive labor and management. You don't reward people for success by paying them less.

The best way to insure productivity and motivate labor is to pay more money.

Happiness and a sense of accomplishment and all the team spirit in the world won't pay for the gifts under the Christmas Tree.
