...the costs of the sun and the wind isn't what makes em expensive. It's the cost of the windmills and the whatchamacallits that converts sunlight to electricity. The big problem is that they wear out before they pay for themselves.

I had not thought of solar and wind power in these terms; that the "replacement" cost of wind and sun are zero, while that cost of coal and gas is always present. Good article. I'll have to take another look at these from an investment perspective.
