New poll: Scott Walker's approval rating drops to 37%
Gov. Scott Walker's job approval rating dropped to 37%, even after he left the presidential race, according to the latest poll released Wednesday by the Marquette University Law School.
Walker's disapproval rating was 59%.
His disapproval rating is the lowest it's been since Marquette started its polling.
Walker's presidential run took a toll on his standing at home, with Marquette's most recent survey showing the governor's job approval rating at its worst since the school launched its poll three years ago.
That poll, released in August, found Walker's job approval rating had plummeted to a 39% approval rating and 57% disapproval.
The new poll also found the overwhelming majority of those polled — 62% — would not support a 3rd Walker term, while 35% would support the move.
With Walker out of the race for the GOP presidential nomination, real estate mogul Donald Trump leads Wisconsin Republicans with 20%.
Among Democrats, Hillary Clinton leads with 44%.
The new poll also provided some insight into the rematch race between Republican Sen. Ron Johnson and Democrat Russ Feingold, who Johnson ousted from office.
Feingold is leading Johnson 50% to 36%.
