Psalms 142:5-7
I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.
Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.
Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy
name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.
When we are at our wits end, and it seems we are about to be overwhelmed by circumstances, or oppressed by enemies, THE FIRST THING we should do is what DAVID has done here, get on our knees and kneel before Almighty God and plead our case to HIM, seeking HIS help and acknowledge that HE is always RIGHTEOUS and will deal with US, HIS CHILDREN, rightly.
The Bible says in the New Testament that we should always be "casting all our cares upon HIM, for HE careth for you".
What a comforting thought that GOD preserved and recorded in HIS WORD for us to always know. HE CARES FOR US!!! No matter what is going wrong in our lives, we can always turn to HIM and know that HE will attend to our cry for help because HE CARETH FOR YOU!!!
What a wonderful reminder of this very thought from this Psalm!
