...no, they are useful idiots. The boat wasn't "forced" to do anything. It turned around because the folks running it are decent people who didn't want to harm anyone no matter how stupid they are. Shell will drill in the artic. A bunch of dingleberries hanging from a bridge will make no difference in the long run.

Portland Protesters Stop Oil Icebreaker

Greenpeace protesters suspending themselves from Portland’s St. Johns Bridge successfully blocked a Shell Oil icebreaker heading to the Arctic on Thursday to help drill for oil. The MSV Fennica was forced to turn around after coming face-to-face with the dangling activists, as well as a flotilla of kayakers organized by Daphne Wysham, who works with the Center for Sustainable Economy. “There is no Plan B, just as there is no Planet B; we have no intention of moving until President Obama rescinds the permit for Shell to drill in the Arctic,� Wysham said in a news release.
