... are just incapable of learning.

Sad to see folks operating the same process year after year and never thinking ... is it possible that trusting a CEO's optimistic statements isn't a great method of discovery?

How pathetic is it to see folks saying "oh, but I thought I could believe in his hopes!" Of course he is hopeful. It is his job to be. It is an investor's obligation to measure the company's performance. That is why they publish the results by comparison to the CEO's theory of the future.

Maybe you agree with this hypothesis at first. Maybe the hypothesis is "I think my company has products the world will want and I think it has unobstructed access to the market!"

That's fine. But then you test the theory. You don't extend the timeline forever. You don't ignore the lack of sales. You don't set aside your own judgement in favour of someone else's. You measure what happened.

If you didn't do that, you can have no worthwhile excuses. If you chase carrots, carrots, carrots, then you are a donkey.

Good grief.
