verses 8 - 10
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Verse 8 gives a sign of those who have not the Love of GOD in their hearts. Someone who has not compassion for others who are dieing and on their way to a sinners hell does not know GOD. WHY? Because GOD LOVES SINNERS, and we all were once a sinner, lost and on our way to hell. GOD's Spirit is LOVE for all.
GOD HATES SIN but HE LOVES the SINNER and died for them.
Verse 9 elaborates on GOD's LOVE for us, reminding us that HE sent HIS ONLY SON JESUS to earth, born of a virgin, took upon himself human flesh, and experienced pain, and suffering just as we do, yet without sin. He was 100 percent GOD and 100 percent man when HE walked among us and He had compassion on all who sought HIM.
He came to pay the price for OUR SINS and RECONCILE us to a HOLY GOD the FATHER because HE loves HIS creation so very much. Through CHRIST we have life eternal and will live eternally with HIM, because of HIM, and through HIM.
Verse 10 shows us what LOVE really is and was demonstrated by GOD when HE sent HIS SON JESUS CHRIST into the World to become the only acceptable sacrifice (propitiation) for our sins! This is the only acceptable way to GOD. Through JESUS' righteousness and sacrifice.
Blessed be the FATHER who loves us so much, He gave HIS only SON to die on a cross and Shed HIS HOLY DIVINE blood for the cleansing of our sins!
