I John 4 and verse 1
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
This is important.
There are many so called "churches", many television preachers with whom there is a lot of showmanship and may even sometimes seem really caring, but they are false prophets.
Their words sound nice and caring.
Be not deceived. There are MANY false PREACHERS (the word prophet here is preacher)today that say things that sound good BUT.....
they are perversions of what the scriptures and Jesus clearly taught us.
This is nothing new. It has been happening since Christ ascended to heaven and as an example, The Apostle Paul had to go to Galatia to straighten out the false preaching that had occurred at that Church before he got there and led several astray.
The Bible says "there is a way that seemeth right to a man, but the ends thereof are the paths to destruction".
"Be not deceived. God is not mocked. That which ye sow ye shall also reap."
"There will be many false teachers and antichrists in the world".
DO not be led astray by people who claim to be of God and teach and say things that sound good to your eyes, but are not found in the Bible in the context of what they are saying. They will take two words from one verse and make it sound wonderful.
Send money. Now!
Scripture must be read with the verses that are found in front of it and behind it and then compared with other scriptures found in other places of the Bible.
Scriptures do not disagree with another. They are all in agreement and when you find all the other supporting scriptures in context, then you have sold foundation. This is called EXOGETING.
Done by those who have AGE and WISDOM in GOD's WORD.
SO, if it sounds too good to be true or sounds like something tickling your eyes, TRY IT from the WORD the WORD of GOD to know what GOD has really said.
ALL my students I have told the same thing. DO not believe any man. Believe GOD and HIS Word. If it's not in the Bible, don't believe it.
