Oh good. Then as amateur chemists we are both free to express our expertise and solve the world's problems!

I spoke with a firefighter about their concept of polymerising chemicals and he explained that they mean it to be exploding polymers, rather than some peaceful and gradual extrusion. So that argues for the explosion hypothesis.

But looking through the features of Acrylonitrile I cannot properly judge whether these containers are doomed to explode.

Your reasoning is bound to be better than mine as I am not a chemist.

Very Happy Neither am (was) I!

But as a project engineer in both a refinery and a chemical plant, I had to "pretend" like it, to some extent. But not even close to being a well versed a chemist.

re: Wave. Yeah, I long ago lost most of my interest too. I kind of wish the sordid story would just finally end, one way or another. Sell it, fold it, something. But, enough of that.
