is there hope for islam?

of course.

once they decide to reject the monster of islamist teaching and practice. and then they get on with building a secular (or only mildly religious) form of jurisprudence and governance and an economics that builds wealth broadly rather than squandering it on the few.

copy south korea or japan or china if necessary.

take responsibility. purge demons from the system. and build a future.

lest we forget, the USA was a set of colonies, once.

the USA broke free from British rule.

do people in the US blame Britain for current US behaviour?

hell, no. they take responsibility for their own decisions.

as they should. as everyone should.

you build from where you start to where you are, and you hope to build from where you are to where you want to be.

the jewish people have managed to build a state from scratch in three quarters of a century. where did they begin?

the south koreans have gone from no-hopers to world beaters in half a century. where did they begin?

twenty-five years ago, india was a basket case but by dint of hard work and policy changes, its economy is booming, while relatively-speaking, pakistan languishes (indian gdp has grown by more than pakistan's for 19 of the last 20 years). since both were part of the same british colony, why the difference?

world bank comparison of gdp in india and pakistan: http://www.google.com/publicdata/explore?ds=d5bncppjof8f9_&met_y=ny_gdp_mktp_kd_zg&idim=countryRazzAK:IND&hl=en&dl=en

in every case, these countries made good decisions for themselves and worked hard and in consequence, they found a world filled with available opportunities.

the problems of islamic states emanate from within their own culture and religion. they must take responsibility.

me victim types of argument are so pathetic.
