hi wilful,

i almost assumed you were our usual multi-handle troll from the title of your post!

i haven't read your sources, although i think i have heard of them. looking them up, i can see why you wondered.

i derived my theories from my own musings about whether one can make a coherent whole system from all the disparate things people believe and think they know.

i call my model the theory of opposing forces. it doesn't emanate from anyone in particular. my influences come from physics, biology, economics, politics, history, law, the development of cyberspace etc. rather than from studying anyone's theory and building on it. i haven't the patience to read and absorb other people's theories in detail.

my opinions almost all flow from that underlying model, but sometimes the model is more capable than i am and i go astray.

Hi Cactus Flower - Interesting moniker..

I carefully read your board info and rules, as well as several pages of postings. I like what I see - especially your writings.

Had I known sooner that this board existed - I'd have dropped by then.

I'm in SoCal and today is gonna be hot, so I've gotta go out back and water before the heat sets in.

Tell me something - do you have any familiarity with any writings of Nassim Taleb or Danny Kahneman?
