More people are killed or injured by cars than by guns. Why not outlaw cars so that mothers cannot drown kids by driving cars into high water? Same logic.

Good Morning Ribit!

Go disarm criminals. Leave the rest of us alone.

I would love to agree with you Ribit, but I strongly feel a mistake in your logic.

You raise a basic difference between the pros and cons of the issue.

A significant part of the gun control movement is based upon the belief that guns in and of themselves cause and promote violence.
This is not a wild and unpredicated idea.

You don't throw a rock unless there is a rock around to throw.
It follows logically that fewer guns in the hands of fewer men results in less shooting.
Irreconcilable differences are one thing.
The belief that weapons cause violence seems to be common sense to many people.

There are 250 people shot in America every day.
This is not a tolerable norm.
Quite as intolerable to me as I know it is to you.

I am not a gun control fanatic. I honestly believe that eventually there will be a political settlement to the issue.

Lunacy is a problem society has no choice but to address.
Armed lunacy is of our own making.
