Go disarm criminals. Leave the rest of us alone.
...my point is that you cannot disarm the criminal types so disarming the general public only creates a bigger group of potential victims. It is a sad state of affairs, but it is what it is.
A significant part of the gun control movement is based upon the belief that guns in and of themselves cause and promote violence. This is not a wild and unpredicated idea.

I am not a gun control fanatic. I honestly believe that eventually there will be a political settlement to the issue.
...there have been political settlements before. Problem is that the left is never happy with a settlement and starts pushing for more and more control after every settlement. Once the camel gets it's nose in the tent is isn't long before he's all in there. It's like trying to negotiate with ISIS.
