It's going to fun to see how Boehner and company receives the Pope's message when he addresses Congress this Fall. I suspect that he will touch on several topics which they would just as soon he not go there at all.
At bible study last night we watched a documentary covering the various visits (22 in all) that Pope John Paul II made to the Americas and how he spoke truth to power all across South and Central America and how so many dictators and political regimes were toppled or at least reduced to ineffectiveness, within just a few years after he visited their countries. At the end of the video, one of the historians interviewed commented that Pope Francis has the opportunity to pick-up where John Paul left off only now the message will not be limited to the third world societies but that Francis' message will actually be more applicable to the first world.
