After 'Qatar' was 'chosen' when temps are 110 in the shade, I think that was just a bridge too far.

I'm a bit surprised at the timing, 2 days before voting on their president. Do you think he'll step aside?

And would have expected AG Eric Holder, since this was a long time in the works.
A nice feather in the cap of AG Lynch ;))

fifa has been a rogue organisation for too long. and no one has policed them.

i imagine the us was exasperated when the voting for the world cup venue was so obviously rigged. unwise to humiliate a us president.

the uk had the same experience. the home of bloody soccer doesn't get a look-in.

fortunately for us, we have the compensation of the richest and most competitive contest in any sport through the premier league. players from all over the world. jingoism not required - club colours mean more than nationality.

in the uk, folks care a lot less about international matches than they used to. they struggle to create a crowd at wembley stadium.
