In 2003 I was a part of the opposition to the second Iraq war fought by another "you are either for us or against us" character named George W. Bush. He fought it anyway and we lost approximately 5000 and have 30,000 with life changing wounds because of it. And that doesn't count the hundreds of thousands who were displaced or killed or maimed.

I got my first taste of war when I was around ten years old and had my mothers brother as a room mate for two years. He fought the second world war in the Pacific in the twin bed across from me until he had to be sent back to the V.A. where he spend the rest of his life until he committed suicide in June of 1979.

We desperately need people willing to stand up and oppose wars simply because if we don't have them, even more will die. Those who opposed the Vietnam War were vilified at the time but how many more would have been on that wall in our nations capital if they hadn't? I suppose there are good wars and bad wars but those who perish are just as dead either way! As far as this business with ISIS goes, it would appear to me that it may be a very necessary war against a bunch of fanatics willing to die for their cause and I am willing to accommodate them on that. But that doesn't mean that I have to like it.

Regards,

Joe

To say that "God exists" is the greatest understatement ever made across space and time.
