American Pharoah Wins Preakness Stakes
The Kentucky Derby winner American Pharoah won the 140st running of the Preakness Stakes on a humid and rainy Saturday at Pimlico Race Course to keep his Triple Crown bid alive.
American Pharoah was ridden by last year’s Derby and Preakness-winning jockey Victor Espinoza.
American Pharoah and Dortmund, the third-place finisher in the Derby who finished fourth, are both trained by the Hall of Famer Bob Baffert and were among the most-buzzed-about horses on the Triple Crown trail.
