they have run out of steam on everything else.
looks like this presidency is over. waiting for the next one. but not feeling inspired about anyone who is currently standing for the office.
my theory of presidential winners in the communications age is that they usually exhibit some leading trait that is the opposite of their predecessor's most obvious weakness.
obama appeared smart and eloquent vs bush's apparent shortage of intellect and poor elocution.
bush appeared honest vs clinton's apparent slipperiness.
clinton appeared more relateable vs bush sr's apparent detachment and privilege.
so my guess is that the next winner will be less cool and more pragmatic.
