1.The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John.

2.Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

3.Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. 

I. The Person of Jesus Christ in Glory (Rev.1:1-3)

A. The Title of the Book (Rev.1:1)

1. Revelation comes from the Greek word “apokalupsis” which means to uncover or reveal.
2. He is revealed from: God to Christ to Angel to John to His Servants.
3. Servants are bond servants. Those who serve out of love for the Master.
4. They are also known as the elect.
5. Notice He is not revealed to the lost or unsaved. Only to His own!

B. The Method of Revelation (Rev.1:2)

1. John testifies he personally bore witness
2. Jesus Christ is the living Word of God.
3. John looked upon the contents as well as
the Glorified Christ!

C.The Beattitude of Bible Study (Rev.1:3)

1. This is the first of seven promised blessings in this book.
2. They are for those that teach this book and those that hear or receive the words.
3.

The time is at hand 
refers to the beginning of the church at Pentecost which is when the time clock of heaven starts and sets in motion the things which will be.
4. The word prophecy refers more to divine origin, not predicting the future.
