The Nepalese are a hardy bunch & became my favourite
people in my travels some 25 years back......i travelled
the road between Kathmandu & Pokhara,it's 8 hrs of
vertical drops into the abyss....spent the entire journey
on top of the bus.

My heart goes out to them......but i know how tough & scary
brave these people are.....which unfortunately is why the British
used them to fight the front lines in their wars.

They had literally nothing then, but were the friendliest people
i have ever met.................calves as thick as tree trunks
as everything had to be carried up & down those mountains
from water to literally...... tree trunks!

101-YEAR-OLD MAN RESCUED IN NEPAL

Rescuers working in Nepal have pulled a 101-year-old man who was buried alive from his home. Fount Tamang was saved on Saturday after his home collapsed in the earthquake on April 25. He is currently in a local hospital and in stable condition. An additional three women were rescued on Sunday, though it is unclear if they were buried for as long as Tamang.
