...I could be wrong, but it is possible that Freddie was the victim of a "Wagon Whippin". That is a term used to describe a method of calming down unruly prisoners in the back of a patrol wagon by alternately accelerating and braking and swerving from side to side "tossing em around" a bit. Not pretty, but a tactic that is used (or used to be in the 60's)

Liberals are like a "Slinky". Totally useless, but somehow ya can't help but smile when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs!
