Remember that these are ponzi schemes. All the tax revenue from these programs is placed into the General Fund of the US Treasury and spent in the fiscal year it is accrued.
Unlike any private type of pension or insurance, in which current accruals are placed into investments which are used to pay future obligations, the elite that lives off these programs have taken their skim off the top and spent all the money. It's gone.
The only way to keep these schemes going is to have an increasing population of young workers who pay in now, in order to fund the current liabilities.
As Western Social states increased their taxes to a point that they suppressed birth rates (as imposed upon tax payers wished to maintain their life style), they no longer were producing a population to maintain the Social Welfare system accounts.
Flooding the country with young workers who can be taxed to fund the current liabilities of these lead zeppelins is the only way to keep the system from collapsing.
This is why everyone in the American elite, Right and Left, is for immigration. This is why all the European Welfare Sates are allowing themselves to be flooded by Muslim immigrants.
This is government of the people, by the elite, for the elite.
