13 For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live,
14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
Okay, verse 13 states that if you have a lifestyle that just lives in a sinful nature, has not any desires for the things of God, and there is no evident change in your nature or ways of thought, it is evident that you have never become a CHILD of GOD and received that change that the SPIRIT of GOD brings about when we SUBMIT to HIS AUTHORITY AND RUE in our lives. HE CHANGES US when the HOLY SPIRIT comes into our hearts and awakens it from the lusts of sin to the things of GOD!
The POWER of the SPIRIT will cause you to NOT DESIRE to live in the PIG PEN anymore, change your way of thinking and behaving! It will be noticeable and hence, you can be assured that you have been QUICKENED BY THE SPIRIT because there is EVIDENCE to that having happened! Verse 13 says clearly that YOU WILL LIVE! (ETERNALLY WIT HIM!)
Verse 14 goes on to illustrate and tell us WHY!! Because we are now SONS and DAUGHTERS of GOD.
God does not have any Grandchildren!!! He only has CHILDREN!!! And they become children through the power of HIS DEAR SON JESUS who loved us, and gave HIMSELF for us so that we could be with HIM forever!
It does not get any better than this!!!!!
