Proverbs 13:12 (KJV)
Proverbs is the BOOK of WISDOM written by Solomon and is filled with Spiritual wisdom for every believer..
In verse 12 we read :
[color-red]Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.[/color]
Solomon is speaking about the HOPE of the believer! The one who put off coming to the FOUNTAIN of LIVING WATER, deferring to coming to the CROSS of CALVARY and the SAVIOR where our HOPE and FAITH is IN HIM. We deferred when we put off coming to JESUS just as we are, all dirty and not cleaned up outwardly.
WHEN that INNER DESIRE comes and we place our HOPE in HIM who has power to FORGIVE our SINS, CLEANS us of our sins, and GIVE us LIFE ETERNAL, and we call upon JESUS to save us from our sins and be our Lrrd and Savior, and place our HOPE IN HIM and HIM alone, it is a tree of life, a fountain of living water, growing and springing within US!!!!!
HOw were people in the Old TESTAMENT before CHRIST SAVED????
SAME way they are today! BY FAITH IN the PROPHESIED MESSIAH. It is GOD that SAVES us, NOT WORKS like keeping all the LAWS and rules of the Jewish nation.
Those rules only showed the people that they could never be good enough to keep them and that they needed something beyond their power to SAVE THEM and make them right before the Living GOD.
It is the GREAT HOPE of CHRIST who described in great detail in Isaiah what he would suffer on that cross and look like.
The HOPE of the BELIEVER is what Solomon is referring to here and it is very real! I cannot understand how anyone can get through a day without knowing JESUS as their Savior.... I hope that today will be the day you experience that HOPE for yourself!
